Reception Class were so excited to see snow this week that they went outside to catch some snowflakes.

We were invited to take part in a 5 a side fun tournament this week, which enabled us to select some different children and test their football skills.

The topic of water is keeping Reception Class very busy in their art and craft area.

After a week of hard work, Year Two are spending Friday afternoons learning outdoors in Clevelands' beautiful woodland.

The Nursery children have been learning about the three billy goats gruff.

With Fair Trade fortnight on the horizon, Year Five were treated to a visit from Martin and Jacki of the Justicia shop in Bolton.

The North West Schools' Chess Championship took place on Saturday and Clevelands entered two teams.

Our B team finished a creditable joint 4th but our A team managed a top three finish and picked up Bronze medals... A super day and a great reward for all their hard work.

Year Four have been exploring how to set exciting story settings in their Literacy this week. They have listened carefully and produced some outstanding work:

Year Three have been learning about the food people ate in the 1950s and 60s.

Reception Class are enjoying working with their topic, 'Water' this term. They put their learning into action when they brought their own wash bags into school ready for an afternoon of keeping clean and healthy.

Year Five and Six were treated to an inspirational combat fitness class on Wednesday afternoon, courtesy of Stacey Mamoun. Stacey works at Nuffield Health for Les Mills and teaches up to twenty five classes per week, but was still able to fit Clevelands into her busy schedule.

The nursery children have been learning about 'The Gingerbread man' this week.

Table Tennis club started this week on the fabulous new tables provided by the PTA. The children loved using the new equipment. 

For the last twelve months the children have been learning to develop a whole range of skills, including developing their listening skills (by performing with each other and with a backing track); note reading skills; muscle memory; technical control and coordination.

The Nursery children have been using cubes to measure the different footprints that we have seen in the story of 'Jack and the beanstalk'.

We have been learning about the concept of 'the same' as well as developing our 1:1 correspondence when counting.

After reading the story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ the Nursery children wanted to plant their very own 'beanstalk' - so that is exactly what they did.

Year 4 have been involved in performance poetry this week, reciting verses from the Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll

Our Year Five and Six girls competed in the Bolton Town Gymnastics Competition last night.

A member down due to injury, the girls all performed their two routines superbly and were the best team in their vaulting group.

There were no Monday morning blues at Clevelands this week - everyone was too busy dancing into the day at our new 'Wake and Shake Club'!
