More Sporting Success

In the past seven days we have taken part in two swimming galas. Both were Independent School Galas, and both were incredibly successful occasions. As a small school we do tend to punch above our weight, and I love the fact that we have staff at Clevelands who work hard to give the children these opportunities.

Last Saturday we headed to Macclesfield Leisure Centre. Nineteen schools took part in a very professionally run event. All of our swimmers made me proud as Headmaster with their determination, resilience and teamwork. We had notable successes in the Year Five Freestyle, with Joseph finishing second and with Stanislav achieving the same position in the breaststroke. Our Boys’ Freestyle Relay team finished a highly creditable sixth out of the nineteen schools.

On Monday we travelled to Castleton Baths where our team finished joint second in their group winning seven races and placing second in a further eight races. Again, those values were represented brilliantly by our Clevelands pupils. It was a pleasure to watch and enjoy all of their successes and efforts.

In addition, we would like to congratulate Joseph, Joseph who has been selected to represent the North of England ISA Schools in the National Finals. This takes place at the Olympic Swimming Venue in Stratford, East London. Joseph will travel down to London on November 30th, and we all look forward to hearing about his successes.
