It all started with a story about a little red hen who needed friends to help her with some grains of wheat she had found and the next thing we knew – Reception Class were baking more bread than Warburtons! The children followed the story of ‘wheat to flour to bread’ and then had a go at making their own bread. They programmed a bread making machine to make a crusty loaf, baked their own cheese bread and then followed a set of instructions to make the perfect piece of toast. All the pupils could also identify different types of bread from across the world
