Pond Dipping

Reception Class made the most of the spring sunshine with a pond dip. Everyone had the opportunity to discover for themselves what is hidden in the wonderful underwater world of Clevelands pond.  The children were fascinated to find so many different creatures in their nets - ramshorn and pond snails, dragonfly nymphs, water beetles, tadpoles in different stages of growth and even both types of common newts (smooth and palmate).  Everyone followed the rules for staying safe and caring for living creatures so we can't wait to get back to learn more about this remarkable habitat.
