Our Year Five and Six Basketball Team took part in the Bolton Schools’ Championship this evening. Placed in the largest group, we had four schools to compete against. We won all four games, the last was a group winning decider, which we triumphed 4-2.

In the semi-finals we took a 4-0 lead but St. Matthew's equalised and we then entered extra-time where we bravely lost to an extra-time basket.

The children were magnificent. They had worked really hard, listened in practice and applied themselves to the very best of their ability. I could not have been more proud of them. To reach the semi-finals two years running is a fantastic achievement. We are all very proud of the team that acquitted themselves brilliantly.
