Hockey - Semi-Final Superstars!

Last night, the Clevelands sporting success story continued as we entered the Bolton Schools Hockey Competition. Nearly 20 schools took part and so competition was fierce. Our school was placed in group 4 which took place in the school hall at St. Joseph's, which meant a slippery surface that was difficult to play on. Our children were amazing and won all three games without conceding a goal.

They then moved to Astroturf for the semi-final. Remembering everything Mrs. Bowden had taught them, they played a stunning game, leading St. Thomas of Canterbury twice but eventually drawing 2-2.  This led to the dreaded golden goal extra time, and despite three great chances, we lost 3-2. It was a brilliant match and Mrs. Bowden was rightly over the moon with how well the children did, in what will be her last tournament for school. Another great achievement for our school and the children involved.
