Year Four have been exploring how to set exciting story settings in their Literacy this week. They have listened carefully and produced some outstanding work:
''It was the night and the fog was so thick you could hardly see through it. The wind was howling through the thick branches of the trees like a cheetah running so fast it is invincible. Flickers of moonlight were coming down through the woodland leaves. Suddenly, I heard something. Was it a monster? Nobody knows. It was silent, then a flock of bats came screeching from nowhere. I ducked and saw some flowers, but I looked closer and it was some poisonous fungi!'' By JM
''It was dark and rainy...the wind was whistling. I went through the dark wood. I could smell danger coming and heard animals coming after me......the trees shaking, the shadows moving, and then silence. In the empty deserted forest, no-one ever came. Except for me and suddenly there was a bang! What was going on. The trees were shaking like a witch casting a spell.'' By AA
''It was a hot, sandy day in the desert. As the sun rose up the heat became hotter. The cave I was in had footprints in the sand like alien ones. I followed them. I could see another cave where I could hear howling noises. I could smell a soggy sand smell in the air like a swamp. The noise became louder. Then I saw the end of the footprints. I went into the cave and I saw heads everywhere.'' By AM
