World Book Day

On Thursday 1st March, the children through school celebrated World Book Day by coming into school dressed as their favourite book character. They had the chance to talk about their costume and character and the older children joined the younger children in ‘Paired Reading’ activities.

Year Three paired with the Nursery children and enjoyed their visit to the Nursery and Year Five twinned with Year One. The Year Five children thoroughly enjoyed reading to their younger school mates. The younger children enjoyed the experience of "coming up" to the juniors. Year Five took their responsibilities very seriously, not only reading to the infants but also explaining and questioning to help the youngsters comprehension. A very worthwhile activity which everyone enjoyed.

All the children did a variety of different book related activities throughout the day.

Thanks to your efforts, we have raised £140 for Water Aid, our chosen charity this year.
