Water Aid Talk
Dave Broughen representing the charity Water Aid, Clevelands’ chosen charity this year, gave a presentation today to the Juniors about the work they do to provide clean water to poor countries. In his talk he highlighted some staggering statistics such as two fifths of the world’s population do not have access to clean water and approximately 4,000 children die from diarrhoea every day because of poor hygiene and sanitation. The talk finished with a brainstorming session listing all the daily tasks that need water. The list was very long!!! The children were left in no doubt just how precious water really is.
