Reception Class prepared for World Book Day last week with a visit to Bolton Library. The children were amazed to find so many books under one roof. They tried to count them all before settling down to browse, read and have fun sharing stories with their friends. Bolton Library holds many family events through the year, including a free book 'give away' session this Saturday. Visit their website for more information.
Across the school on Thursday, Our pupils united with children around the world to celebrate World Book Day, The theme for this year was 'Share a Story' so assembly began with our teachers sharing some of their favourite stories. Then it was the turn of the children with 'Book Buddies' when the older and younger pupils mix up then settle down to enjoy a good read.
After a fun 'Literary Lunch' School Council opened their 'Swap Shop'. This meant more browsing for our book worms, finding new homes for well loved books - a great way to re-use, recycle and share stories
