What a wonderful afternoon of chess we had at Clevelands yesterday as we welcomed six local schools to one of the largest League Tournaments that has been held in Bolton. Just short of 100 children silently settled down to play chess, in two hotly contested divisions, with a record 24 children representing Clevelands. All the children play two matches on the night.
Reception Class welcomed a doctor into their classroom this week.
This week the children in Pre School have been developing their book handling skills during shared reading activities.
This term School Council have been promoting a 'Green Team' approach to raise eco-awareness for everyone at Clevelands.
Year One took us to the other side of the world today with their fact filled assembly on New Zealand.

The children in Year Three and Year Four had a wonderful morning playing with their very special musical instruments.
Our kitchen staff put on a Spring Special on our menu this week to celebrate these warm, sunny days (brrrr…!) Sadly it was too cold to picnic ‘al fresco’ but everyone enjoyed their picnic bags regardless.
There were many requests for another picnic lunch and some for some hot weather too!

Reception Class were kept very busy in their Maths lessons this week as they counted out the candles for the Queen's birthday cake.
