A Coronation Re-Enactment

As part of Year Three’s topic lessons learning about Britain in the 50s and 60s, Year Three re-enacted the coronation of Queen Elizabeth 11 on June 2nd 1953. They made traditional paper hats and ended the afternoon with a wonderful street party with typical food from the 50s.

Before the party began some pupilss played the National Anthem as the children sang ‘God save the Queen’. One child's Grandad was the guest of honour and gave a very interesting talk about life in the 50s and 60s.
